Triumph Bonneville is the legendary motorcycle from the British motorcycle maker -Triumph and the good news is that it will make it to Indian shores in November 2013 along with rest of the lineup. This motorcycle is named after the famous American record holding ground,Bonneville Salt Flats. Triumph Bonneville was first introduced in 1959 and since then the motorcycle has gone through many mechanical and cosmetic changes, but one thing that hasn’t change – its traditional design and classic nature. The Bonneville looks very classy and it is very unlikely the motorcycle will lose its iconic image. Keeping its classic design in mind, the company has decided to give it an analogue speedometer with odometer, clock and trip information. The standard Bonneville which will make its way to India doesn’t sport a tachometer but that won’t play ‘Not to buy’ reason for Indian buyers. The Bonneville is powered by 865cc air-cooled fuel-injected parallel twin engine which churns out 68PS at 7500rpm and 68Nm of torque. The engine is mated to 5-speed gearbox and the motorcycle has a kerb weight of 225kg. It gets the light cast 17-inch wheels with 110/70 and 130/80 tyres at the front and rear respectively. Talking about its braking power,it gets single 310mm disc in the front and single 255mm disc in the rear along with Nissin 22-piston floating caliper. Triumph Bonneville gets Kayaba 41mm telescopic forks in the front and chromed twin shocks with adjustable preload in the rear. It gets a fuel tank capacity of 16 litres which is quite low for a motorcycle like this. Triumph has been launched at Rs 5.7 lakh ex-showroom Delhi, just Rs 20,000 more from their 2012 Auto Expo price. The bike will be sold in India through completely-knocked-down (CKD) route through their plant in Gurgaon. Being the lowest priced Triumph in India, this product is expected to contribute the highest number of sales for the British manufacturer.
