UM Renegade Thor is the twin to Hero Duet 125 which is aimed at the propelling 125cc scooter segment in India. UM Renegade Thor is a lot sharper and embraces a more aggressive appeal than its twin Duet. This is a clear indication of the former being targeted at the young section of the society. The paint scheme on offer is vibrant and matte. The side panels and the front cowl feature sharp styling lines. The tail lamp features LEDs. It sports diamond cut alloy wheels that add to the scooter’s style quotient. The scooter comes with optional front disc brake and Integrated Braking System (IBS). Other bits include a mobile charging port, remote key, a digital-analogue console with service reminder and a side stand indicator, a pass switch and the external fuel filling feature. UM Renegade Thor is powered by the same single-cylinder 125cc ‘Energy Boost Engine’ that is capable of generating a max power of 8.6PS at 6,750rpm and a peak torque of 10.2Nm at 5,000rpm. The scooter also features first in the segment Hero’s i3S stop-start system. It is expected to be launched in the later part of 2018 alongside its twin Duet 125. It will take on the Honda Grazia, the Aprilia SR 125, the TVS NTORQ 125 and the Suzuki Access 125.
